You can register RAGS again!

I have released a new version of RAGS classic…version 2.6.0 which you can download and use to register your copy of RAGS again.

Once you have registered with this version, you can use your legacy copies of RAGS as well.

Enjoy RAGS and let me know if you have any issues with the new system.

Thanks,

Steve

  1. Hello, I am trying to register my subscription and RAG say he is unable to connect to server, what can I do?

I also have an error message appearing when I open RAG.

    It says:

“could not load file or assembly ‘System.Data.SqlServerCe.
    Version=3.5.1.0. Culture=neutral.
PublicKeyToke=89845dcd8080cc91’ or one of its dependencies. The located assembly’s manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040).”

    1. I would download the registerable version 2.6 from the downloads and try registering with that.

Let me know if you still have problems

        1. im also haveing the System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: ‘System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeConnection Rags.Game.GetDBConnection()’. problem

        2. I described it about month ago, yet apparently my previous post “awaits moderation” indefinitely or just was deleted. I have the same problem as Slyspeaker; Rags Designer works well but starting game in debug mode or RagsPlayer gives me System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: ‘System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeConnection Rags.Game.GetDBConnection()’.

          1. Hi Mouse…thanks for your comment. I’m sorry you’re having trouble. Can you verify your version of the rags player that starts when debugging or playing the games? I will try to sort it out for you.

            Thanks,
            Steve

          2. I’m trying to use 2.6 version of Rags. As previously mentioned installing sql server ce 3.5 sp2 solved my problem with the Designer, but not Player.

    2. so once youve registered the 2.6 you can reregister 3.1? ill more than likely be needing to soon, but dont want to lose the ability to dev in it

    1. charlie, I will look into it. The registration keys are automatically sent to the paypal registered email address. If your email address has changed, it may not have made it to your current email address.

      Thanks,
      Steve

      1. If you are Charlie R. it looks like we took care of this issue already. Send me an email if you still don’t have the key.

        1. That’s me! I tried sending an email to support@ragsgame.com this morning, but it bounced back with a “recipient not found” error. I double checked my inbox and spam folder and I cannot yet find any key information. Thank you for looking into this for me!

  2. Installed MS sql server ce 3.5 sp2 32-bit and 64-bit onto my Windows 7 machine, per your recommendation above… then installed the RAGS 2.6.0

I can start up the RAGS.exe ok, but as soon as I actually try to open a .rag file, I get an error saying “Could not load file or assembly ‘System.Dara.SqlServerCe. Version=4.0.0.0… or one of its dependencies. The located assembly’s manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.”

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  3. Still having trouble with this one. Have both 3.5 and 4 installed. I can open my games in the editor just fine but it fails when I try to open anything in the player. I’m getting this error when I do so.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    1. Wow…that’s strange since the designer and player both use that SQL server ce….If it worked for one, I’d assume it worked for both. Have you tried version 3 as well as the 2.5? Same results each time?

      Thanks,
      Steve

  4. Hello there,
I just purchased a key for RAGS but I can’t seem to use it. The system keeps telling me that Rags wasn’t able to connect with the server. It’s RAGS 3.0.60.0 and I’m running on windows 10. I didn’t manage to make RAGS 2.6 work on my computer.
    Can you help?
    Thanks

    1. Hi. You will need to download the 2.6.0 version from the site to register rags. After that, you can run whichever version you like.

What sort of trouble did you have with the 2.6 version?

      Thanks,
      Steve

  5. I don’t know if its just me but I cant register rags when I try it just says “Sorry, Rags is unable to communicate with the server. please try again later.”
